Social Media Networking Event at Basepoint Ipswich.
I attended a really interesting networking event at Basepoint Business Centre in Ipswich, UK on Friday 26th June 2009.
There was about 50 businesses present from the area.
The event began with open networking (although I was busy with Ryan trying to get the final parts of our marketing material finished off at this point).
After we were seated we listened to a presentation by Kevin Barber from the Best of Ipswich, Kevin spoke about Blogging using examples of a blog related to the 2012 olympics and its effect on Suffolk.
Michelle Wooton from Basepoint Business Centre then gave a presentation about using Facebook in business. She went through setting up a business page in Facebook.
The final presentation was by Elene Marsden from Corazon IT. Elene gave a presentation about Twitter and how it can be used to extend you businesses in the emerging social media markets.
I was given the opportunity at the end to present Social Media Pack and it’s benefits to businesses that don’t have the time to set these services up themselves.
It was an extremely interesting afternoon, and I look forward to the next event.
