What is a Browser?

Google has been busy recently. Interviewing people in the street (specifically Times Square), and have been asking the question “What is a Browser?”.

The video below documents this, and interestingly enough the majority of people give the wrong answer. So with all the marketing for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Netscape Navigator and Opera (to name but a few), why do so many people not know the answer?
