Social Media Pack LinkedIn Support now includes Status Updates

LinkedIn has over 47 million members in over 200 countries and territories around the world. A new member joins LinkedIn approximately every second, and about half of our members are outside the U.S.

With immediate effect, Social Media Pack from Matt Porter Web Design Limited now updates LinkedIn status directly. This is a further improvement to our existing Blog Integration.

Social Media Pack is a solution to integrate WordPress Blogs with Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn,  Tumblr and  MySpace. Enabling businesses to spread the word about their products and services to millions of potential customers. In return these businesses receive “warm leads”.

For those of you not in the know, Twitter offers command options from their Message box, details below:-

FOLLOW in twitter

FOLLOW username

this command allows you to start receiving notifications for a specific person.
Example: follow socialmediapack

LEAVE command on twitter

LEAVE username

this command allows you to stop receiving notifications for a specific person. Example: leave cnnbrk

REPLY command in twitter

@username your message

sends a tweet to someone, and causes your tweet to save in their “replies” tab.
Example: @socialmediapack Excellent post

D command in twitter

D username your message

sends a private message to someone. However that person needs to follow you also. The message is not public.
Example: D socialmediapack please contact me asap

WHOIS command in twitter

WHOIS username

retrieves the profile for any public user on Twitter.
Example: whois socialmediapack

GET command in twitter

GET username

retrieves the latest Twitter update posted by the person.
Example: get socialmediapack

NUDGE command in twitter

NUDGE username

sends a tweet to the person, reminding them to update twitter.
Example: nudge socialmediapack

FAV command in twitter

FAV username

marks a person’s latest tweet as a favourite
Example: fav socialmediapack

STATS command in twitter

STATS

returns your number of followers, how many people you’re following, and your biographical  information.

Upcoming features

In addition to our current WordPress, Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr integration, we are also in the process of providing more detailed post information in Facebook and also sitting alongside a Newsletter System. More to follow.

You may be aware that both Twitter and Facebook have been experiencing sustained DDOS (Distributed Denial Of Service Attacks).

Twitter have issued the following statement on their Twitter Status page.

“Due to defensive measures we’ve taken against the ongoing denial-of-service attack, some Twitter clients are unable to communicate with our API, and many users are unable to tweet via SMS.

We are working as quickly as possible to restore our full service.”

Social Media Pack have made alterations to our link to Twitter and are pleased to announce that all posts to Twitter from Social Media Pack are working as planned.
